There’s so much wrong with this stupid product.

I’m not much of a cook, but I have a perfect recipe for one thing — ICE!

There are many different types of ice trays and, to my knowledge, they are all really easy to use and do a fine job making ice cubes (or whatever other shapes you want.)

But these Ice Cube Bags take the drudgery out of something that has absolutely no drudgery. You fill these the ice cube bags with water, seal them, stick ’em in the freezer, then when they are frozen, you pull the bag to loosen the cubes. I guess you have to then open the bag and pour the cubes into something.

And then you throw out the bag! A little more plastic for the landfill, I guess.

In Ice Cube Bag’s defense, I suppose they might be useful when you  are entertaining and don’t have an icemaker and are too lazy to buy a $3.00 five pound bag of ice.

If you choose not to buy these, you can write us at icecuberecipe@classicstupid.com and we’ll share out family secret.

The first flexible ice cube tray was patented in 1933 — made of stainless steel with levers to crack the cubes free. Before that, you had to chip cubes out of giant blocks.
