I bow down to the mighty Pet Rock.

In 1995, a marketing executive named Gary Dahl came up with the idea and sold over 1.5  MILLION of them in just the first few months.

And to my astonishment, the darn thing is still being sold!

There will never be a stupider gift idea, and at this point it’s an iconic work of art. Your friends the Mona Lisa, but you can give them a Pet Rock! (And let’s be honest, which would they rather have, anyway?)
